# Troubleshooting Printer Network Connection

<p class="callout warning">I'm trying to network my Printronix printer to my network but it's showing no IP address, only 000.000.000.000</p>

<span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">An IP address of </span>`<span class="editor-theme-code">000.000.000.000</span>`<span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> means the Printronix isn't getting an IP address from your network. In most cases, either the Ethernet connection isn't actually established or the printer is set to DHCP but isn't receiving an address from the router.</span>

Since you're networking one of your Printronix RFID printers, I'd check it in this order:

<p class="callout danger">First: Make sure that you have a stable internet connection.</p>

1. ****Check the Ethernet cable first.****<span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> Make sure it's connected from the printer's Ethernet/LAN port directly to your router, switch, or an active wall jack. Look at the Ethernet port on the back of the printer—you should normally see </span>****link/activity lights****. If there are no lights, that's our first clue.
2. <span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">On the printer display, go into </span>****Settings/Configuration → Network → Ethernet****<span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> (the exact wording varies by T-Series vs. TH-Series).</span>
3. <span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Make sure </span>****Ethernet is enabled****<span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> and the IP assignment is set to </span>****DHCP / Automatic****, not Static.
4. <span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">If DHCP is already enabled, </span>****restart the printer with the Ethernet cable connected****<span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> and give it about 60–90 seconds after it fully boots.</span>
5. <span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Check the network/IP screen again. You want something like </span>`<span class="editor-theme-code">192.168.1.123</span>`<span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">, </span>`<span class="editor-theme-code">192.168.0.123</span>`<span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">, or </span>`<span class="editor-theme-code">10.x.x.x</span>`<span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> instead of </span>`<span class="editor-theme-code">000.000.000.000</span>`.
